LLC converter design
I am designing a 3kW converter with 390Vdc at the input and 250-420Vdc at the output, is it better to use a full bridge LLC converter than a half bridge LLC converter? I ask this because the Q is lower for a given load when a full bridge LLC is used. Does that mean that the full bridge LLC can manage higher output voltage ranges?
When using LLC this way it requires a wide frequency control range, i.e. 100k-400k Hz, or a high Q, as well, to obtain full power at low line and to reduce the voltage at no load and high line.
