Methods for core losses measurements
I am currently working on a project on switched-mode power supplies, and I have come across the problem of predicting core losses. Although ferrite manufacturers do provide core losses data, they often are specified only for sinusoidal excitation, which is not relevant for my application.
After browsing through the literature, I have found a few methods that look like they could work. One of them is the so-called Triple Pulse Test, developed by researchers at the University of Bristol.
Has anybody here tried this TPT? If not, what is your usual way to measure core losses? Thanks!
