Parallel Windings

I found a transformer like this with multiple parallel windings on it and I do not understand if this is useful, What type is it?

Hello Chris, there's nothing strange there, it's just an ordinary transformer. If parallel windings are as near identical as possible, it's ok because they carry the same current and receive the same magnetic fild. It's a trick used in high current applications where a single thick wire could be difficult to bend on a cleanly way around the core.
